In the lull before the midterms, Jerusalem Demsas and Matt Yglesias took a break from political horse races to discuss the recent film You Can See Everything. Matt thinks Elizabeth Holmes might come off more sympathetic if she were willing to admit some fault in her actions. But Jerusalem notes that the unapologetic style of playing the unfairly attacked victim has worked well for certain political candidates in recent years. Check out their full conversation in our newest episode of The Argument.

Corrections and clarifications:
Around 26:27, Jerusalem says that she and Elizabeth Holmes incorrectly pronounced Amanda Seyfried’s last name as “sig-freed” and that it should be “say-freed.” She and Matt continue to pronounce it “say-freed” throughout the podcast. Her name is actually pronounced “sigh-fred,” and it was incorrectly pronounced as “see-freed” during the film.
