Position Overview
This is a full-time, in-person position based in our downtown Washington, D.C., office, with some flexibility for remote work. Start date: Nov. 1, 2025 (flexible).
You’ll work closely with the Editor-in-Chief and Social Media Strategist to manage the entire production pipeline — from preproduction, to shooting and recording, to editing, mixing, and publishing. If you’re excited about creating conversation and a debate-driven show that tackles politics, policy, and culture, this role is for you.
Responsibilities
- Manage video and audio operations for a weekly video podcast 
- Book and preinterview guests; pitch potential interviewees 
- Scout and set up locations, handle gear logistics, ensure top-quality audio and video 
- Operate cameras, switchers, microphones, and lighting for both studio and remote recordings 
- Edit, mix, and master video and audio files for multiple platforms 
- Track performance (watch time, retention, downloads) and optimize accordingly 
- Create clips, shorts, and visual assets with the Social Media Strategist 
- Manage equipment inventory and upkeep; recommend gear upgrades as needed 
Qualifications
Required:
- Two to four years producing podcasts and/or video for a news, politics, or talk-format brand 
- Strong skills in lighting, shooting, and recording clean audio in varied environments 
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Audition 
- Comfort directing talent and troubleshooting technical issues under deadline pressure 
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines 
Preferred:
- Experience livestreaming events 
- Motion graphics skills (Adobe After Effects or comparable software) 
- A portfolio of politically engaged or policy-focused audio/video work 
Location and Schedule
- Downtown Washington, D.C. 
- Primarily in-person, with some flexibility for remote work 
- In-person attendance required for recordings and key meetings 
Compensation and Benefits
- $90,000 annual salary
